Field Director: The Field Director functions as the onsite manager of a field office. It is the Field Director that creates a vibrant political atmosphere that allows for staff development and growth as well as accurate analysis of field strategies. A well-managed campaign office translates into greater personal, political, and professional growth.

The requirements for the Field Director position are as follows:

Must have strong management skills. Field Directors must be able to: identify the strengths, weakness, and potential of staff; be able to assess and understand varying motivations in order to mobilize staff; provide training and guidance that enables people to grow in their job; and have organizational and administrative skills to meet critical deadlines and procedural requirements. A Field Director must also be flexible and a self-starter.

PCI Field Directors manage various types of campaigns, in all areas of the country and at all levels of government. Field Directors must have a strong interest in the political system and be able to translate political goals to staff. Though actual campaign experience is not required, the desire to understand political relationships and issues is mandatory.

Progressive Campaign's success is a result of people willing to go the extra mile. Our greatest successes came when Directors pushed themselves, performed under intense pressure, and doggedly found ways 'to get the job done.' We look for managers who are willing to do whatever it takes, have geographical mobility and subscribe to the notion that "failure is not option."
